Anji Culture and Art Center by MAD Architects


MAD Architects has revealed the design of the Anji Culture and Art Center in southeast China. The different volumes of the building, covered with white-tiled roofs, converge to create a silhouette reminiscent of the surrounding hills planted with Anju white tea. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, India


The new 40-hectare terminal at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport will accommodate 40 million passengers a year for both international and domestic flights, and was designed by SOM. The new four-story terminal is inspired by the form of traditional Indian pavilions, and the constellation of colors makes reference to the peacock, the national bird of India, and the symbol of the airport.  

Chengdu Natural History Museum, China


Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects was chosen as the winner of an international competition for the Chengdu Natural History Museum. The site is located in Chengdu, a historical and culturally rich city in China. With a form inspired by the geological impact of shifting tectonic plates, and reflecting pools inspired by ancient irrigation systems, the scheme makes heavy reference to the surrounding natural landscape.   …
